Welcome to The Dearborn, a gem nestled in the heart of Chicago at 145 N Dearborn St. This American restaurant has quickly become a favorite among locals and travelers alike, known for its delightful ambiance and exceptional service. As I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, which I soon learned mirrored the friendliness of the staff.

The culinary delights at The Dearborn are nothing short of spectacular. From the moment you sit down, the experience begins with their renowned Parker house rolls—fluffy, warm, and impossible to resist. The menu showcases a thoughtful selection of American dishes, with highlights such as the Wellington burger that promises to be juicy and bursting with flavor. Guests rave about the truffle fries, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them a must-order. For those in search of a unique twist, the fried chicken stands out, with a crunch that rivals even the best in the South, complemented by a zesty maple mustard sauce.

Drinks at The Dearborn do not fall behind either. With expertly crafted cocktails like the espresso martini to wash down your meal, it’s clear that the bar staff takes just as much pride in their beverages as the kitchen staff does in their dishes. Imagine writing postcards to your loved ones while savoring your meal—yes, they do that here, allowing you to share a piece of your journey with those who matter to you. It’s these thoughtful details that create a personal feel, making each visit special.

And let’s not forget about dessert—many patrons have declared the chocolate chip cookies here as life-changing. Made with premium French chocolate, they are the perfect sweet finale to a delightful meal. Patrons rave that these cookies could set a new standard for what dessert should be, tempting them to return time and time again.

In summary, The Dearborn is more than just a restaurant; it is an experience that captures the essence of American dining with a touch of heart. Whether you are a local or just visiting Chicago, make sure to secure a reservation—your taste buds will thank you.

Lovely and polite staff, delicious food. Would recommend making a reservation if you’re close to any standard meal time. Server brought us post cards (that they will mail for you) to write some friends at home as we were traveling.

Amazing food and service! We went in because we wanted oysters only to find out that they changed the menu so oysters weren’t available. We had the ceviche, wellington burger, roasted duck breast and truffle fries. Also had espresso martini and jack and coke. It was all perfectly made. Our bartender was attentive and always checked in on us. We sat at the bar and we. Didn’t have to wait at all. Great experience. Just go!

First visit to The Dearborn and it was really good. I dined alone and they say me at a nice comfortable booth seat. It was fairly quiet which was perfect. I ordered the Dearborn burger with fries (22) and a soda (4). They did add an “(operational feed” of 3.25%...not sure what that’s all about. The burger is quite tasty and moist. The fries are served crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just as they should be. The staff is friendly and my server today was Jeremy and he did a great job, was friendly, attentive and personable. This was the perfect restaurant for me today.

We adored this place!!! The food was incredible, our waitress was quirky and attentive, and the drinks were perfection. A local Chicagoan recommended that we visit and we’re so glad that we listened. The Parker house rolls were to die for and the prosciutto and white cheddar croquettes were divine. I ended up getting the fried chicken from the first course section as my main dish with the truffle fries; I would put this up against fried chicken that I’ve had in the south. The fried breading had a perfect crunch to it and was only made better with the maple mustard and hot sauce. My husband got the fish and chips and said it was really good as well. I wish this restaurant would expand into South Carolina because it would be great here. So good!!!

Let's start with the best part of this whole restaurant: our server, Tony K, was phenomenal and even gave us several free cookies for our birthdays. Oh and those cookies? The best cookies I've ever had. I'm actually kind of upset because I'll never be able to eat any other chocolate chip cookies because these were so fantastic that nothing else could compare. They are apparently made with a special French chocolate and their chef was even flown out there to train. The meal itself was amazing, the portions are perfectly sized for the price you're paying. None of that tiny portion, expensive meal stuff you get at other restaurants. This place really made you feel like home and I'm seriously considering flying back out to Chicago just for this restaurant. I'm absolutely coming back!

We had a great time at The Dearborn. The food was solid overall—especially the Brussels sprouts, which were absolutely amazing and packed with flavor. The drinks were another highlight: well-crafted and creative without being over the top. We ended the meal with cookies, which were good but didn’t quite reach the same level as the rest of the meal. Still, the overall vibe and quality made it a worthwhile stop. Would definitely go back for the drinks and those Brussels sprouts alone.

Was staying in a nearby hotel and was desperate for a good meal after a long day of travel and The Dearborn did not disappoint. I highly recommend getting the prosciutto croquettes - they were incredible. As a big tequila and mezcal fan I was appreciative of the variety of tequila based cocktails they had. I really enjoyed the wolves cocktail. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was a little too tart for me but it had potential so this one was probably just a subjective miss. The mashed potatoes was melt in your mouth good and the steak was perfect. Service on the water refill was so on point! And lastly the ambiance and vibes were also a plus. All in all a great spot.

This establishment is quintessentially Chicago, offering impeccable cuisine, exemplary service, and a refined ambiance. With a 1:45pm reservation on a Sunday, we arrived 30 minutes prior, and upon entering, our party was promptly seated. The manager attentively reviewed my son's allergies to ensure his safety and enjoyment. We received a warm welcome, accompanied by an assurance that our needs would be met. The live band's renditions of Erica Badu, HER, and other artists were outstanding. The standards set were not only met but exceeded. We extend our gratitude for the opportunity to experience your culinary vision.
